From Arizona to California in the US; then back to the UK, London to be precise before heading to Rome, the majestic capital of Italy!
Running takes me to the most stunning locations and I have the privilege of meeting some fabulous people; but it is not all fun and games, a lot of hard work too!
My time training at altitude in Arizona was not all smooth running, Carlsbad 5000 took a bit out of my body and it needed time to recover and rediscover its rightful balance. By the time of the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in early May I was almost back into the swing of things and did what I needed to do clocking a solid 31.42 over 10000m.
Back in the UK again and the rest of May saw some good training, really starting to feel the flow again.
So now we are in June and it is time to toe the starting line; two nights ago I ran my first 5000m in 21 months at the Diamond League in Rome. Admittedly I was a little race rusty, but it is great to get back on the athletics circuit and to compete. There is much more in me than my time of 15:11, but it is a good start and after all nothing can really prepare you for racing like racing itself. I am already excited for my next competition and if you are wondering where it is, the picture above gives a clue!
